iii. Library, Information, and Media Sciences: Courses from this category will help the students to understand the recent developments in information and media science (journalism, mass media, and communication)

5.3. Programme/ Curricular components

Semesters 1 & 2: The students will undergo courses in 4 broad disciplines (major stream, minor stream, 2 broad disciplines (multidisciplinary category) to have basic knowledge not only in major areas but also in two other disciplines broadly grouped under Natural and Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Applications, Library, Information and Media Sciences, Commerce and Management, and Social Sciences. With exposure to basic courses in four disciplines, a student can decide to continue the chosen major or change the major and minor areas of interest at the end of the second semester. Additionally, these students will also take up courses of their interest from Ability Enhancement (language), Skill Enhancement, and Value-Added categories. 

Change of Major: Students can opt for a change of major within the broad discipline (Natural and Physical Sciences, Mathematical, Statistics, and Computational Sciences, Library, Information and Media Sciences, Commerce and Management, and Humanities and Social Sciences) at the end of the first year.

Learning Assessment: 

There should be library assignments as part of continuous evaluation that consists of class tests and mid-semester examination(s), as decided by the faculty in charge of the Courses of study.

Semester wise distribution of curricular components:

The undergraduate programme seeks to equip students with the capacities in fields across arts, humanities, languages, natural sciences, and social sciences; an ethic of social engagement; soft skills such as complex problem solving, critical thinking, creative thinking, and communication skills, along with rigorous specialization in a chosen disciplinary or interdisciplinary major and minor(s). 

Semesters 1 & 2: The students will undergo courses in 4 broad disciplines (major stream, 2 minor stream, and 2 broad disciplines (multidisciplinary category) to have basic knowledge not only in major areas but also in two other disciplines broadly grouped under Natural and Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Applications, Library, Information and Media Sciences, Commerce and Management, and Social Sciences. Apart from this they have to opt some courses like ability enhancement (AEC), Skill enhancement (SEC) and Value Addition Courses (VAC) 

Change of Major: Students can opt for a change of major within the broad discipline (Natural and Physical Sciences, Mathematical, Statistics, and Computational Sciences, Library, Information and Media Sciences, Commerce and Management, and Humanities and Social Sciences) at the end of the first year.

The curriculum transaction time should be flexible from 8.30 am to 5 pm six days a week. Library and Laboratories facilities should be accessible to the students for at least three more hours after the regular transaction.

How many have noticed the introduction of Multidisciplinary courses in the first and second semesters and particularly, Library, Information, and Media Sciences?

Don't know whether this will remain there during implementation.

If it will be there while implementing the framework, who will teach these courses?

African Journal of Biological Sciences: A predatory journal in Scopus

 Hello Team RetractionWatch, I would like to report a case of a journal named "African Journal of Biological Sciences".  The journal is index in Scopus at  https://www.scopus.com/ sourceid/21101106407 Scopus does not mention a homepage for the journal nor given a link to the journal. Scopus has calculated CiteScore 2023 as 0.8. All the articles of the journal are indexed in Scopus. It is interesting to note that all the text on the homepage "About the Journal" and "Journal Policies" are images. The image on the homepage shows the cover of a print version of the first issue of the journal bearing ISSN XXXX-XXXX.
