NAAC about libraries in higher education institutions

 Guidelines




During the visit to the library, the team may focus on: 
(a) Management of the Library and Information Services, 
(b) Library services provided to users 
(c) Extent of the use of the services and 
(d) the library holdings and its update.

The on site visit video of the institution need to be uploaded in the respective institution’s website immediately after the visit. The video recording be done for the following interactions:
  • Meeting with the Vice Chancellor/Director/ Principal
  • Visit to the Departments and support facilities.
  • Meeting with the Governing Body/ Management
  • Meeting with the Controller of Examinations and the
  • staff ((for Universities/Autonomous Colleges)
  • Meeting with the IQAC members.
  • Visit to Library.
  • Interaction with Office of Director of Student Welfare
  • Meeting with the Finance Officer and the staff
  • Meeting the Registrar and the staff (for Universities/Autonomous Colleges)
  • Visit to other facilities/centre/other units
  • Exit Meeting


Visit to Physical Facilities i.e. Library, Sports, Gymnasium, Yoga Center, Computer Centre, etc..,

Onsite Interaction with Office of DSW, Canteen, Hostels, Health centre, etc., (Facilities for teaching – learning, sports, games etc.., automation of library, collection of rare books, manuscripts, updated IT facilities including Wi-Fi, procedures for maintenance and utilization of physical, academic and support facilities etc…) 

14:00 – 14.45 hrs

African Journal of Biological Sciences: A predatory journal in Scopus

 Hello Team RetractionWatch, I would like to report a case of a journal named "African Journal of Biological Sciences".  The journal is index in Scopus at  https://www.scopus.com/ sourceid/21101106407 Scopus does not mention a homepage for the journal nor given a link to the journal. Scopus has calculated CiteScore 2023 as 0.8. All the articles of the journal are indexed in Scopus. It is interesting to note that all the text on the homepage "About the Journal" and "Journal Policies" are images. The image on the homepage shows the cover of a print version of the first issue of the journal bearing ISSN XXXX-XXXX.
