Preliminary Minutes of the 21st Meeting of the Syndicate held on 29.12.2020

Item No.21.78.D10 Academic Writing and Research Ethics – Recommendation of the Expert committee on University Education (COVID 19 period and after) - reg- (Ad. A V)

The meeting of the Expert Committee on University Education (COVID 19 period and after) was held on 04.11.2020 at PVC's Chamber. The committee discussed in detail on Library resources and has accepted the proposal submitted by the University Librarian(i/c), KUL on the matter of Academic Writing and Research Ethics and has recommended to place the same before the Standing Committee of the Syndicate on Academics and Research. As per the orders of the Vice-Chancellor, the proposal submitted by the University Librarian (i/c) regarding the Academic Writing and Research Ethics for the post COVID period is placed before the Standing Committee of the Syndicate on Academics and Research for consideration and appropriate recommendation. 

Recommendation:

The committee considered the proposal submitted by the University Librarian(i/c), KUL on the matter of Academic Writing and Research Ethics and recommended the following: The University Librarian be authorized to check the Plagiarism in the Ph.D thesis and to issue a certificate to this effect. 

The proposal to levy Rs.100/-(Rupees One Hundred only) as fee for checking Plagiarism be placed before the Standing Committee of the Syndicate on Finance for concurrence.

Resolution of the Syndicate 

RESOLVED that the above recommendation of the Standing Committee of the Syndicate on Academics and Research held on 22.12.2020, be approved.

 Hello Team RetractionWatch, I would like to report a case of a journal named "African Journal of Biological Sciences".  The journal is index in Scopus at  https://www.scopus.com/ sourceid/21101106407 Scopus does not mention a homepage for the journal nor given a link to the journal. Scopus has calculated CiteScore 2023 as 0.8. All the articles of the journal are indexed in Scopus. It is interesting to note that all the text on the homepage "About the Journal" and "Journal Policies" are images. The image on the homepage shows the cover of a print version of the first issue of the journal bearing ISSN XXXX-XXXX.
